Review Topic: Lifting Conditions

I have already made a review for USCIS Memphis when I attended my AOS Interview a few years ago. Today I had to go for a different reason. I applied for the removal of conditions on my temporary green card over a year ago, and have heard nothing since. My NOAA1 extension is about to expire so I made an InfoPass to find out what's going on and what I can do.

The Memphis USCIS office has now relocated to 80 Monroe Avenue, 7th floor, downtown Memphis. For any of you with upcoming interviews, there is no parking at the actual building, but on the corner of Monroe and Union is a parking garage, located 100 yards from the building. Its very cheap to park there.

The building inside is beautiful... We both commented as you walk in it looks a lobby to a five star hotel. When you reach the 7th floor USCIS office is directly in front of you.

As normal, security were awesome. We have always found them to be humorous and extremely polite and professiona... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

When we first arrived the security was nice. Spoke to us. However, the others in the office were not at all nice. I assume due to their jobs they had to be somewhat sociable, but they weren't friendly. Intimidating would be the perfect word for their overall demeanor.

I was somewhat nervous. My husband appeared to be calm and collected. We were called in by a male agent. He was very stern looking. His attitude wasn't the best. He asked us questions about our families and how did we meet and do we speak to each other's families.

He spoke to my husband briefly about the Arab Spring. My husband didn't comment much about it. My husband is a private person he's known to keep his opinions and comments concerning political matters to himself except around myself or the family.

Afterwards, the male said: ' okay, this is the part where I am supposed to say: Congratulations! So, Congratulations! You will get your greencard within 30 days.'

It was a very straight forward process. We did not have to wait much cos they have also done their finding too. We only have to show them the originals of the docs sent plus our photo album.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

So we were invited for an K1 to AOS interview which made me slightly nervous since I've checked the immigration timelines and it seems that most people aren't scheduled for one. I was wondering if we had given off any red flags (we got married only a year after meeting each other) and I guess we should've sent in more photos and other kinds of proof (which we had brought with us, especially photos!).

Anyway, we were a bit worried since the interview was scheduled for Friday 13th and in addition to that the website of the USCIS explicitly states that the office is closed on Fridays. I was quite relieved when we arrived and saw cars parked in front of it! It was open indeed.

Not even a handful of people were in there. We went through security and then to a counter where I showed my invitation and passport. We were told to go sit in the waiting room and come back to the counter in ten minutes. So we did and we were sent to another waiting room, that one was ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I drove roughly 8 hours to the "local" USCIS office. We went down 2 days early to just have a couple of days of fun before the interview. We arrived to the USCIS building about 10 minutes before the interview time (we wanted to be earlier than that, but it was raining incredibly hard and it slowed us down.)

We went into the interview waiting room and began to wait. One by one people who were there when we entered were called back and then left, then people who arrived after we did began to be called back and leaving. I was starting to get really worried that it was taking so long. My husband, however, was cool as a cucumber and said that was actually a good sign. lol

After almost 2 hours of waiting they called his name. I wasn't allowed to go back with him. Less than 10 minutes later he came back out and signaled for us to go.

He said they only really asked him identification questions (never even asked to see the pil... read complete review
